Plot Blog

Polt is the backbone of any novel, play, movie or story. First is an exposition where everything is laid out. In Hamlet most of the background info will be know by the audience. In Pride and Prejudice the exposition takes place over the first few chapters, and is more open than Hamlet. The rising action leads a character to the climax. In a drama such as Hamlet the rising action is the constant set up to the event of act 5. These events all all staged as if they were on a play whereas in PnP the events were more drawn out and not every scene was as important as Hamlet. The falling action in a Drama varies from one in a fiction novel because of the ending of each. In Hamlet the ending was about death. In a fiction like Pride n Prejudice the opposite happens and everyone gets married and LIVES happily ever after. In Hamlet barley anyone lives.
